Jo has always had an interest in health and fitness and discovered Yoga 21 years ago following the birth of her son. She had suffered from chronic back pain since her early twenties, and had been diagnosed with severe degeneration of the intervertebral discs of her lumbar spine.
After practicing Yoga for a short while she began to notice improvement in her symptoms with the pain episodes becoming further apart. Now 21 years later she is completely pain free, upright and strong.
Jo is a Registered 500 hour Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, the largest organisation representing Yoga teachers in the world. With this qualification Jo is able to teach Yoga anywhere in the world, including the US.
She also holds a senior Level 2 qualification with Yoga Australia.
With her background, Jo has a keen interest in the remedial benefits of Yoga and has seen many of her students strengthen and heal their bodies whilst enjoying physical wellness, mental clarity and emotional peace due to their regular Yoga practice.
Jo took further training in December 2013, completing the 500 hour Yoga Therapy Course with the Paramanand Institute of Yoga Science and Research in Indore, India.
During this time she received high quality teachings from Doctors, Professors and Yoga Masters.
Her time spent in an Ashram environment in India allowed her to deepen her own Yoga practice whilst gaining access to traditional Yoga teachings and knowledge which she can now share with her own students.
