Jo is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500) with Yoga Alliance (USA) the largest international organisation representing Yoga Teachers in the world. She also holds a senior Level 2 Yoga Teacher status with Yoga Australia, and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Jo has always had an interest in health and fitness and discovered Yoga 17 years ago following the birth of her son. She had suffered with chronic back pain since her early twenties, and had been diagnosed with severe degeneration of the intervertebral discs of her lumbar spine.
After practicing Yoga for a short while she began to notice improvement in her symptoms with the chronic pain episodes becoming further apart. Now 17 years later she is completely pain free upright and strong.
With her background, Jo has a keen interest in the remedial benefits of Yoga and has seen many of her students strengthen and heal their bodies whilst enjoying physical wellness, mental clarity and emotional peace.
Having taught Yoga for 10 years, Jo took further training in December 2013, completing the 500 hour Yoga Therapy Course with the Paramanand Institute of Yoga Sciences and Research in Indore, India. During this time she received high quality teachings from Doctors, Professors and Yoga Masters. Her time spent in an Ashram environment in India allowed her to deepen her own Yoga practice whilst gaining access to traditional Yoga teachings and knowledge which she can now share with her own students.
She has been teaching Yoga in the beautiful Macedon Ranges for almost 14 years and hopes to be sharing her passion and joy of Yoga for many more years to come.
